Class Schedule

My classes are the following:

Intro to Old Test - a study of the Hebrew Bible and a look at the messiah from the Jewish point of view - Fr. Eugene Pentiuc

Christian Education - a study on Orthodox education for children and adults - Fr. Frank Marangos

Byzantine Chant - Ni-Pa-Vou - the Byzantine equivalent to Do-Re-Mi - Fr. Nick Kastanas

NT Greek - En arxh hn o logos - In the beginning was the word - Dr. Evie Holmberg

Patrology - an introduction to the church fathers - Fr. George Dragas

Church History - an introduction to church history through the 7 ecumenical councils - Dr. Jim Skedros

So far, the work isnt hard, however, the amount is overwhelming at times.

The good news is that I have no classes on Friday, but that makes Monday through Thursday a LONG week.

Please keep us in your prayers.

Brian

Yup! Looks like you have the regular ol' HCHC ("The School So Nice We Named It Twice", to borrow a phrase I heard when I was up there) First Semester Schedule.

You'll do fine---and you'll grow. By February you'll be surprised at how much you have changed, and your new perspectives on things.

Also, since the resident Bengals fan has left HCHC (uhhm...me) I now pass the lampada to you!

I would so love to take your history class for Niki's homeschooling this year. It would fit in absolutely perfectly with what we're doing!

Grin, Fr. Chris, at least there are some other AFC fans here, so one of them is getting the NFL channel so we can watch the AFC North. But Im still the only Bengals fan up here. Should be interesting for tomorrow when the Bengals play the Patriots.

Jennifer, the main text we're using is Henry Chadwick's "The Early Church". It is a good introduction from Pentecost to the Seventh Ecumenical Council without having to slug through Pelikan or some scholarly work. We also balance that with various first source letters such as Cyprian, Ignatius, Tertullian etc. Give everybody our love back home.
